I am originally from Michigan. I went to Michigan State University where I got my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with minors in math and English. I also met my wonderful husband while at Michigan State. I taught a year of first grade and then got married the summer after. A week after we got married, we moved to Northern Virginia (just outside of Washington DC) where my husband had accepted an Equipment Manager Job with the Washington Redskins football team. While in Virginia I taught two years of sixth grade math and one year of sixth grade English. After a year and a half in DC, my husband accepted a job with the Washington Nationals Baseball Club. On May 5, 2014, almost two years after we had been married we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Darwin III, who we call Trey. He is the light of our lives! In August of 2015, we made the cross country move to Los Angeles, where my husband had accepted a job as an Equipment Manager with the UCLA football, baseball, and tennis teams. Our first year out here, I long-term substitute taught in an eighth grade math class at Culver City Middle School. I became the Kindergarten teacher at Visitation in the fall of 2016. I really enjoy teaching the little ones and creating a family in the classroom.
